History

Purchased and protected through the efforts of the Groton Land Foundation in cooperation with the Town of Groton in 1999.

Description

The Baddacook property is a very scenic parcel with hemlock forests and wetlands.  It has an extensive trail network that connects to other conservation land in all directions.  It includes glacial terrain including kettles.  It also provides access to ponds and wetlands.  There are several points at which views are available. The transmission lines provide trail access to several other conservation parcels including those in Dunstable.

The parcel is of considerable ecological value as indicated by the Massachusetts Natural Heritage Programs BioMap2 program.
